Sleepy Hollow, New York
Village Government Election - Tuesday, March 21, 2012

Elect Neighbors for Responsible Government!
Sleepy Hollow Neighbors for Responsible Government are Democrats, Republicans and Independent voters - united to ensure responsible management and fiscal responsibility in village government - responsible to all our neighbors and to the protection of our village on the Hudson River.

Our trustee candidates are our neighbors - not paid politicians - they do not serve special interest groups.

They are long-term residents volunteering their personal time in service to our community. Each is a seasoned manager with the business expertise and intelligence to listen to and deliver what Sleepy Hollow residents need.

They love Sleepy Hollow and will fight to protect all our neighbors and our village's future!

Sleepy Hollow Mayor Ken Wray said that after long, careful consideration these are the three people who can best work with the current board for the benefit of the entire village. They are, he says, “three individuals who care deeply about Sleepy Hollow and have the skills and experience to help shape the future of our village.”

Volunteer Candidates...
Karin Wompa for Trustee

Trustee Karin Wompa is running for a third 2 year term on the Board. She has lived in Sleepy Hollow since 1995 with her husband and twin children. Karin chairs the Downtown Revitalization Corporation, serves on the General Motors committee and has been active on the Board’s Administration and Public Safety committees. She also took the lead in reestablishing the Environmental Advisory Council. Before becoming a Trustee Karin served on the Board of the Philipse Manor Improvement Association. Karin has a Masters of Public Administration from NYU and a BA in Public Health from City College. Karin says “I want to continue the progress we have made, especially on GM and downtown revitalization. Continuing on this path means a bright future for Sleepy Hollow.”

Susan MacFarlane for Trustee

Susan MacFarlane is an attorney specializing in securities litigation for Morgan Stanley in Purchase. She has lived at Ichabod’s Landing with her husband for six years. Susan founded “Friends of Horan’s Landing and Sleepy Hollow RiverWalk Park,” a volunteer non-profit group formed to beautify and support community use of the park. Last summer she organized Sleepy Hollow’s first “Movie in the Park Night” at Horan’s Landing. Susan has a degree in economics from Purdue University and a law degree from the University of Illinois. Susan says “I want to have a bigger impact in maintaining and improving our beautiful village, including guiding the riverfront developments in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way. I also want to support the business district and create and promote community activities.”

Jennifer Lobato-Church for
                                                        Trustee

Jennifer Lobato-Church was raised in Sleepy Hollow. In fact her Sleepy Hollow roots go back four generations. She left to attend Rutgers University and Brooklyn Law School. Jennifer served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Brooklyn DA’s office, received an MBA from Baruch College and is currently in-house Regulatory Advisory Counsel for the Royal Bank of Scotland. Jennifer moved back to Sleepy Hollow in 2006 and lives in Webber Park with her husband and two daughters. She serves the Village on the Zoning Board and as Chair of the Police Advisory Committee. A registered Republican, Jennifer says “I want to continue the growth and progress that was begun by the current administration and to ensure a safe and successful future for our village.”
